How to Cook Filipino Style Chicken Curry Recipe – English

Chicken Curry Recipe Filipino Style

We are not big in curry, the original recipe from India, we cannot take the spice that comes with it, but this is so popular that we cannot resist but re-make it by tweaking the flavor that suits our taste buds. Today I tried cooking it and I hope you would all love it as my Family did! Enjoy…

FYI: I did not use the curry because we live in Singapore and the curry here is extremely strong that we would not want to eat it! To the haters and rude comments you posted I invite you to Singapore and try the food with curry! Goodluck!!!

Ingredients:

250g chicken
4 cloves of garlic
1 small onion
1 tsp curry powder
1 tsp salt
1 small red bell pepper
1 medium gingeer
1 small carrots
1 small potato
3/4 cup of coconut cream
1 1/2 cup of coconut milk (2nd extract)

Technically speaking, ginataang manok yung niluto nung cook, to suit the
Filipino palate. The turmeric or luyang dilaw gives the curry flavor, not
necessarily a curry mixture because that’s fresh…. sabi nga nung isang
nag comment, kanya kanyang style lang yan para sa pansariling panlasa…

Isn’t a single curry in the ingredients.

para sa hinde nakaka alam, yung ginger na sabe nya, luya na delak, tawag po sa
visaya, dulaw, mga visaya eto ang genagawa nila.so no need to put a curry
powder kasi yung luyang delaw ang nag papalasa noon.

  16. Is It Summer Yet? January 24, 2015 at 1:05 am

I’ve never seen an orange colored ginger..

  17. Wendy Strin January 24, 2015 at 1:05 am

Looks good, but still not a chicken curry, as there is no curry at all. you
could have add a bit of curry powder to taste.

  18. L Poblete January 24, 2015 at 1:05 am

Where is the curry. I guess I missed that portion. Your ginataang manok
    looks yummy though.

  19. Jay Japay January 24, 2015 at 1:05 am

  25. tengcanete22 January 24, 2015 at 1:05 am

Hindi Chicken Curry niluto mo …kasi walang CURRY POWDER kang nilagay.
Kaya tinatawag na chicken curry ay dahil mayroong curry powder..the only
thing that your cooking turns golden yellow because you put yellow ginger
but you did not say yellow ginger sinabi mo lang ginger!…sabi nga ng isa
nag comment CLOSER TO GINATAANG TINOLA…Paki Bago mo nalang ang title mo
